How to upload a video on Youtube

Create a Google Account if you don’t already have one.

You need to create a Google account if you don’t already have one.

  • Open [https://accounts.google.com/SignUp] If you see this page, it means that you already have an account with Google or another product that uses your personal information and login credentials. You’ll be asked to sign in with your existing account before continuing with step two below.
  • If the above does not apply to you, click [Create an Account] at the bottom of the page, enter in some basic contact info, then click [Sign up].
  • Go to YouTube and sign in.

Check that you’re signed in to the account you want to use.

If you’re not signed in, you won’t be able to upload a video. If your account is private, you’ll need to make it public so that anyone can view your videos. To do this, go to the “Edit Account” page and choose “Public on YouTube” from the dropdown menu next to “Privacy.”

You can only upload videos as yourself—not someone else’s username or channel name—and you cannot use copyrighted material in your videos unless it’s explicitly allowed by law.

Select Upload at the top of the page.

You can upload a video from your computer or directly from your camera, phone or tablet.

To upload a video from your computer:

Click Upload at the top of the page. Then select Upload videos and select an existing video to upload or click on the Add files button to add files directly from your computer.

The next page shows you all of the videos you’ve uploaded, listed in order with newest first. You can preview each one by clicking on its thumbnail image or Play button (if available). To filter them down by just those that are private, unlisted, etc., check out our filtering guide!

Before you start uploading the video you can chose the video privacy settings.

When you are uploading a video, YouTube allows you to set the privacy for your video. You can choose between Public, Unlisted, and Private.

Public videos are available to everyone on YouTube. Anyone can view them without logging in or creating an account with Google. This means that anyone who has access to your page can see these videos and any information associated with them (e.g., comments, likes).

Unlisted videos are only available to a select group of people—like friends or family members—who have been sent a link from you directly through email (or another platform). Only those specific viewers will be able to watch this content online by clicking on one of those links that contain unique URLs generated specifically for each recipient. You don’t need any special permissions or privileges before sharing this type of content; however, if someone wants access but hasn’t received one yet then they won’t be able to find out how since “unlisted” is basically just another word used by Google when describing private videos instead!

As the video is uploading you can edit both the basic information and the advanced settings of the video.

  • The title, description and tags are displayed on your YouTube Channel at all times. This is also where you can add a thumbnail image for your video.
  • The category will help users find your content more easily within their search results by organizing it into appropriate groups based on its content (e.g., “Music” or “Documentary”).
  • The playlist is an easy way to organize and share related videos with viewers who subscribe to them so they don’t miss out on any new ones you publish! You can create playlists from scratch or simply drag-and-drop existing videos into them from either end of this section (i.e., drag one onto another). Once created, subscribers will be able to see every new upload that’s added as soon as they’re uploaded—no need for manual updates!
